About
Work lost the plot. We're fixing that.

Somewhere along the way, “going to work” became “checking eleven tabs.” The plan lives in one tool, the conversation about the plan in another, the decision in a third, and the person who made the decision left last quarter — along with the context.
Openbook started with a simple observation: none of those tools are bad. Kanban boards are great. Feeds are great. Wikis, whiteboards, retros — all great. What's broken is the seams between them: the copy-pasting, the duplicate notifications, the six permission systems, the search that can't see across walls.
So we built the seams out of the picture. In Openbook, every one of those tools is a roomin the same space — same members, same search, same sidebar. You compose the workspace your team actually needs, and skip what you don't.
We're a small team that ships fast and talks to users daily. If that sounds like a company you'd like to build alongside — as a customer or a teammate — we'd love to hear from you.
What we believe
Six principles we build by
Teams are different. Tools should flex.
A design studio, a support desk and an engineering squad do not work the same way. That is why Openbook is composable — rooms, not rigid modules.
Finished beats configurable.
Nobody wants a second job building internal tools. Every room ships fully working, with templates borrowed from teams who have done it well.
Async by default, human always.
Fewer meetings, more written updates — but also kudos, birthdays, communities and feeds. Software for work should feel like a place, not a queue.
AI should do, not just draft.
Our assistant takes real actions with your confirmation — and you bring your own AI key, so you decide which provider ever sees your data.
Consolidation is kindness.
Every extra tool is another login, another notification stream, another invoice. Folding the stack into one place gives teams back attention and budget.
Honesty in everything.
Our comparison pages say when a competitor is a better fit. The same standard applies to how we build, price and support the product.
