Is it really all free?+
Yes. Every plan gate is switched off while Openbook grows: all 18 room types, unlimited members and spaces, the AI agents, dashboards, proofing and full history. No credit card, no trial clock, nothing to activate.
Why free?+
The same reason Trello was: the fastest way to prove a workspace this broad is to let whole teams live in it. We would rather earn your subscription later than gate you now.
Will it stay free?+
Paid plans are planned — Pro around $15 and Business around $29 per user per month — but when pricing switches on, early workspaces get generous treatment, and nothing ever gets deleted. Whatever you build stays yours and stays accessible.
How does the AI billing work?+
Openbook does not resell AI tokens. You bring your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or DeepSeek and pay the provider directly at cost — unlimited assistant and agent usage with no credit system and no per-action fees.
Who does a workspace belong to?+
Your organization. An organization holds its members, spaces and rooms, and — when pricing arrives — its plan. Run two organizations and each stands on its own. Billing settings live in the organization’s Settings → Billing.
What counts as a "user"?+
A member who can create and edit work. Viewers and guests are always free and never count as seats — invite as many read-only people as you like.
